Condition
The parchment is of good quality, but some pages have holes, cuts and warping. One writing-book of eight pages is missing after sheet 87. "Sheets 64-71 fall out, sheet 127 is torn, sheets 61, 62 and 80 are processed by a chemical substance developing ink (something like a means for revealing palimpsests); sheets 1 and 135 have spills of a brown liquid and their text is very shabby and not always readable" [JC, 63]. "Some pages in the beginning and the end are glued to the spine with the use of paper" [JC, 63]. Sheets 80 and 87 were rearranged; initially they were sheets 86 (by the original pagination) and 80, respectively. Kh. Vostokov [ Vostokov 1865, 203] showed that in 1865. Judging by the text and pagination (see below), 8 sheets were lost before the first pagination (before 1855), sheets 80 and 87 were transposed between the first and second pagination (the second pagination was done between 1865 and 1919).
"The book-cover of the XIV: boards in leather without stamping (the spine falls off). The only lock is lost" [JC, 63].
